"Thanks for a great weekend - amazing venue, very 'magical'. Waking up in a treehouse never got old, nor did wild swimming, or cutting up fire wood. The outdoor kitchen area was a real joy to work in, and washing up out in the trees made the simplest of tasks really special. For context, we were there for 2 days as part of a Stag Do. Little trinkets throughout were great to keep the guys entertained (the didgeridoo in particular!), who would have thought i'd get 13 fully grown men playing recorders around a camp fire one night and a heated game of backgammon the next. We're already trying to work out who we can group together to come back again next year. Thank you!"

"About 18 of us visited 7th rise in April. We were met by the manager Izzie on the road who was super helpful and friendly. It’s a good little hike down to the site, probably just under 10 minutes but pack light because although it’s ok going down, it’s a slog going back up hill with a heavy bag.
The house, shelters, rooms and facilities are an amazing balance of simplicity and character. There’s no hot running water on site or showers but it seriously adds to the charm of getting away from ‘normal’ life. Me and my partner stayed in the treehouse and it was amazing. All you can hear is the river once everyone’s asleep and you’re pretty close to the kitchen in the morning to grab a coffee and come sit back out on the balcony.
There’s so much to do, kayaking, fishing, walks, foraging, etc over the land and water which surrounds 7th rise. It’s so private and secluded, I genuinely can’t describe it in words.
We stayed for 2 nights but could have quite happily stayed much longer. We’re already looking at booking again.
It caters easily for 18 people with plates, cutlery, bedding and stuff provided.
It’s certainly not a hotel stay on a luxury holiday however, if you’ve got the slightest bit of adventure in you, don’t mind getting a bit mucky and living off grid a bit then it’s 100% worth a visit!

"Hi guys, just dropping you a line to say thanks for providing some tickets to courses, and some 7th Rise products for our charity auction. We had it last week and in total raised over £4000 on the night so big thanks to Thom for contributing :)"

"we were looking for a unique 'get-away' experience for a friends 30th birthday. We spent a lot of time outdoors in the Scouts when we were young but city life had consumed us for the last 10 years. spending a weekend in the woods with my old friends was absolutely awesome, just what we all needed i think. Thank you so much Izzie, Thom and the rest of the gang you guys have created something unbelievably special."

"A wonderful escape from the city that reminds me of growing up in New Zealand, a slice of Cornwall that is just like a little cove in the Marlborough Sounds. "

"I just wanted to write a small note to say thanks for the recent 6-10 year olds forest school session at your brilliant venue. All the kids were really engaged and loved the adventurous nature of the site, and the activities and course leaders were second to none. Thanks Sally"

"We visited 7thRise as part of a stag do, and it was an outstanding weekend. The location is right by a river estuary and the setting at the edge of a forest is the perfect place to spend a unique weekend away. The range of accommodation is special, from treehouse bunks, to converted boathouses to a large cottage. Our instructor (Stuart) was a legend and taught us how to manage the camp, a lesson in wild foraging, full deer butchery, and many more. The team were very accommodating with our requests to suit the group and it worked perfectly. Would highly recommend! Thanks Stuart, Jay, Izzie and Thom!"

"Fantastic feeling walking into this place on a Friday afternoon, greeted by our host Matt with some amazing smelling rabbit curry then heading straight off with Jay for some highly competitive snare setting and fire starting. The activities continued to entertain for the remainder - we were a stag party of 13 with about half from military backgrounds, but the activities really offered something for everyone no matter their experience. Matt's cooking was phenomenal the whole weekend, doing justice to our butchered deer and foraged greens. He was really easy going and tolerant of our stag group! The waterside setting and campfire vibe really brings a diverse group together. Loved it! "

"Just got back from my second weekend visit to 7th Rise. It was amazing to spend each morning wild swimming with my sister and making new friends over bushcraft. We stayed in the Hunting Lodge this time which was gorgeous and cosy! Our host Matt was lovely, approachable and a dab hand in the kitchen. Jay was a great teacher for canoeing and archery! Can't wait to book next for next May!"

"We had a simple getaway with me and a few mates to celebrate my best mate getting a new job and leaving the country next week for 2 years. What a perfect place it is, I can't remember the last time I spent time with my friends like that. I guess life gets in the way a lot, but down at 7th Rise it's the real chance to genuinely hang out with your mates again, just like old times.
The venue is super cool, the guy that run it are awesome, totally recommend it

I am just emailing to say a massive thank you to all your team at 7th Rise for such an incredible stag weekend for my stag do last weekend.
We had an amazing time and it was definitely the best stag do I have ever been on and a lot of the guys also felt the same. Also I'd like to say a particular thank you to Stu as our host. He was really helpful, great company, and cooked the best food I have had for a long time!
I wish I could do it all over again!

"FROM A DAY COURSE FOR JAMIE OLIVERS 15 APPRENTICES - I just wanted to send a MASSIVE ‘Thank you’ for having us last Thursday. It was such an informative and fun day – we all thoroughly enjoyed it. What a place you have! And Matt – your knowledge and passion for wild ingredients is inspiring. Thank you!"

"If you want the perfect unspoilt getaway with amazing surroundings, then this is the place for you! It certainly was for us we stayed in the treehouses which was spotlessly clean and very cosy and totally watertight as it smashed it down with all day and night whilst we were there. If you like to prepare your own food wild false has all the facility's in its outside cooking area, gas burners, bbqs, oven, toaster, wood fired pizza oven etc etc. They provide you with breakfast making foods and fresh eggs and veg from the garden which was fantastic. Toilet facility's are adequate and were clean, the only downside is that the showering facilities are limited and need a it of thought, but we used our solar shower and swam in the river which literally just below you! Amazing place and perfect communication from izzie the manager. One tip would be to pack all your stuff in a rucksack including food as it would have been so much easier carting it down!"

"Just got back from the most perfect digital detox weekend with 7th Rise. Alarms, texts, calls, emails and social media were swapped for bushcraft, foraging, butchery, canoeing and archery. I spent my 'free time' chatting on the woodland swing, wild swimming, lying in a hammock and eating delicious food made by our lovely instructor Stuart. Evenings consisted of chats around the fire and sleeping in a tipi. It truly was the most amazing experience in such a beautiful location and I cannot wait to go back! A huge thank you to those who made the weekend so special- I could not recommend Stuart and the team enough. X"

"I couldn't have asked for a better stag do! After doing the rounds on all the typical British stag do's, I was adamant that I wanted to do something else, something different to what everyone would be expecting and 7th Rise did not disappoint.
There is nothing better than hanging around a fire with a stomach full of freshly cooked rabbit stew, a few beers and several guitars and drums to take your mind off the madness of every day life.
After waking up on the first morning to the sweet sound of the River Fal and stepping outside straight in to the wilderness is absolutely amazing. One the first day, after a full English breakfast, it was our turn to skin and butcher a deer ready to eat for the rest of the weekend - by this point, the whole stag party didn't want to leave.
There was no pressure, no demands and no worries at 7th Rise, everyone felt as if we'd all gone back to being kids and doing what we all enjoyed when we were younger. Stu and Andy were the possibly the best hosts ever, nothing was a problem and they were both more than happy to help, answer our questions or lose graciously at the card game they taught us!
This was an unforgettable stag do and I know that I will definitely be returning to the 7th Rise."
Grant Hawkins, Anstey, 30 April 2015
"Another 5* experience. My group thought we had experienced all the delights of 7th Rise last year, but to returned for a second year to find more hidden delights! The new tree house, hunters lodge and sundowners bar made the return worth the wait. Matt the Chef needs a special mention! Great, fabulous food. The freshly caught and cooked shrimps, the venison chilli and the fish pie were a mark of a great, versatile chef.
Another special mention has to go to Jay and our canoe adventure, great fun fishing for mackerel, and what a catch.
All these adventures in just a couple of days topped off with the best sunset ever, heaven.
Thanks Thom. "

"Wow, what a weekend! We recently held a stag do with Thom and the team at 7th Rise and had a blast. The back to nature approach and numerous activities they offer made it a weekend to remember. Our particular favourite was the butchery session, which is not to be missed. Thank you team 7th Rise.
