"The Lost Cottage of Penperth is truly a magical place. It is a beautiful, secluded cottage with lots of querky cabins, huts and a treehouse to stay in. It was great fun exploring the place, going for a swim in the river and finding the secret hammocks! The firepit and outside dining table was perfect for scenic meals. We had a stag do there and all 18 of them said they would happily get back to the lost cottage of penperth."

"The Lost Cottage of Penperth is one of the most magical spots. Even better than described. The accommodation is full of character, rustic and very comfortable. The beauty of the location, and the peacefulness, is unrivalled. It doesn't get much better than swimming in the creek, followed by a huge BBQ, and then roasting marshmallows around the fire whilst the sun goes down. Lovely local villages like Portscatho and St. Mawes are very close by and worth a visit, if you can drag yourself away from the cottage."
Luke, England, 31 July 2019
"This place is exactly as described - you feel remote but can still get back to the shop etc if you really need to. We stayed at the cottage the whole time and wanted for nothing. I brought my toddler, who had the best time ever testing out his wellies in the water and poking around the place. We really had a lovely time. The new showers were the icing on the cake."
Kirsty, London, 13 July 2019
"This is one of the most magical spots in the world. Our whole group from young to old had an amazing time. You just can't put in words how special this place is. Thanks for making it possible."
Rob, Hythe, 04 July 2019
"This house was absolutely magical! Words and photos don’t do this place justice! There was plenty of sleeping space in various different areas - the treehouse was absolutely amazing! The house had everything we needed - hot showers, well stocked toilets, a kitchen with a pizza oven so we got to make our own pizzas one evening. The grounds and surrounding area were stunning and the space felt so secluded and tranquil. We loved the outdoor dining table, which was perfect for our big group, and the fire pit area was great to gather around at night when it was a bit colder.

"Our stay at The Lost Cottage of Penperth was unreal and better than we even expected, the photos are a mere snippet of what this place offers. We were only a group of 12 so had ample sleeping space but would easily sleep up to 20 people no problem. Communication was great the whole way through, canoeing was brilliant and everyone said they'd be back to stay again! Izzie was also a great host, going out of her way to help us and problem solve when we had a slight hiccup with our catering. Thanks so much!
Helen, London, 30 April 2019
"We had the most amazing weekend celebrating my partners 30th birthday. Such a fab location, photos don't do the place justice. We can't wait to come back in the future!
Emily, Guildford, 31 March 2019
"We had a magical new year at 7th Rise. We loved the cosy bedrooms, swimming in the creek and making pizzas in the pizza oven. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of firewood to keep us warm. The beds have two duvets and blankets so are very snug. We also loved playing games in the barn and chilling in the hammock village. It was the perfect location for our friends to meet and get back to nature. "

"If your looking for a unique picturesque cottage away from anything else which sleep a big crowd then this place is perfect. Host was great and we really enjoyed our stay. "
Matt, Chichester, 16 November 2018
"This is a unique and amazing place - beautiful, isolated, rustic, natural and special! You have to be a little bit hardy to love it, but we are and we all did. We arranged a surprise 40th here and Izzie was welcoming and flexible to make the party work without hitch! Thank you and we'll see you again ;)"
Claire, Falmouth, 04 November 2018
"An absolutely incredible location to escape the modern world - very remote and rustic. Izzie was great and organised a keg of local beer for us and helped us get our stuff down to the cottage."
Harry, Newnham, 04 September 2018
"A group of 16 of us stayed for 5 days. We had such a great time. The location and accommodation are beautiful. Our favourite feature was the beautiful big open kitchen which meant we spent a lot of time cooking tasty things. Lots of nice little touches that made the place really special. We hope to come back!"
Louis, London, 04 August 2018
"Thanks for a great weekend - amazing venue, very 'magical'. Waking up in a treehouse never got old, nor did wild swimming, or cutting up fire wood. The outdoor kitchen area was a real joy to work in, and washing up out in the trees made the simplest of tasks really special. For context, we were there for 2 days as part of a Stag Do. Little trinkets throughout were great to keep the guys entertained (the didgeridoo in particular!), who would have thought i'd get 13 fully grown men playing recorders around a camp fire one night and a heated game of backgammon the next. We're already trying to work out who we can group together to come back again next year. Thank you!"

"Hi guys, just dropping you a line to say thanks for providing some tickets to courses, and some 7th Rise products for our charity auction. We had it last week and in total raised over £4000 on the night so big thanks to Thom for contributing :)"
Mike Orton, Devon, 08 February 2018
"we were looking for a unique 'get-away' experience for a friends 30th birthday. We spent a lot of time outdoors in the Scouts when we were young but city life had consumed us for the last 10 years. spending a weekend in the woods with my old friends was absolutely awesome, just what we all needed i think. Thank you so much Izzie, Thom and the rest of the gang you guys have created something unbelievably special."
James Howell, London, 01 February 2018
"A wonderful escape from the city that reminds me of growing up in New Zealand, a slice of Cornwall that is just like a little cove in the Marlborough Sounds. "
Anna-louise Taylor, Bristol , 29 August 2017
"I just wanted to write a small note to say thanks for the recent 6-10 year olds forest school session at your brilliant venue. All the kids were really engaged and loved the adventurous nature of the site, and the activities and course leaders were second to none. Thanks Sally"
S Jones, St Austell, 17 August 2017
"We visited 7thRise as part of a stag do, and it was an outstanding weekend. The location is right by a river estuary and the setting at the edge of a forest is the perfect place to spend a unique weekend away. The range of accommodation is special, from treehouse bunks, to converted boathouses to a large cottage. Our instructor (Stuart) was a legend and taught us how to manage the camp, a lesson in wild foraging, full deer butchery, and many more. The team were very accommodating with our requests to suit the group and it worked perfectly. Would highly recommend! Thanks Stuart, Jay, Izzie and Thom!"
Danny Bensley, London, 15 August 2017
"Fantastic feeling walking into this place on a Friday afternoon, greeted by our host Matt with some amazing smelling rabbit curry then heading straight off with Jay for some highly competitive snare setting and fire starting. The activities continued to entertain for the remainder - we were a stag party of 13 with about half from military backgrounds, but the activities really offered something for everyone no matter their experience. Matt's cooking was phenomenal the whole weekend, doing justice to our butchered deer and foraged greens. He was really easy going and tolerant of our stag group! The waterside setting and campfire vibe really brings a diverse group together. Loved it! "
Matt Jenner, Warwickshire, 31 July 2017
"We had a simple getaway with me and a few mates to celebrate my best mate getting a new job and leaving the country next week for 2 years. What a perfect place it is, I can't remember the last time I spent time with my friends like that. I guess life gets in the way a lot, but down at 7th Rise it's the real chance to genuinely hang out with your mates again, just like old times.
The venue is super cool, the guy that run it are awesome, totally recommend it
Steve Baker, Devon, 27 March 2017
I am just emailing to say a massive thank you to all your team at 7th Rise for such an incredible stag weekend for my stag do last weekend.
We had an amazing time and it was definitely the best stag do I have ever been on and a lot of the guys also felt the same. Also I'd like to say a particular thank you to Stu as our host. He was really helpful, great company, and cooked the best food I have had for a long time!
I wish I could do it all over again!
Alex Dryden, Leeds, 02 September 2016
"FROM A DAY COURSE FOR JAMIE OLIVERS 15 APPRENTICES - I just wanted to send a MASSIVE ‘Thank you’ for having us last Thursday. It was such an informative and fun day – we all thoroughly enjoyed it. What a place you have! And Matt – your knowledge and passion for wild ingredients is inspiring. Thank you!"
Charlotte Trevenna - Fifteen Cornwall, Watergate Bay, Cornwall, 26 August 2016
"Just got back from the most perfect digital detox weekend with 7th Rise. Alarms, texts, calls, emails and social media were swapped for bushcraft, foraging, butchery, canoeing and archery. I spent my 'free time' chatting on the woodland swing, wild swimming, lying in a hammock and eating delicious food made by our lovely instructor Stuart. Evenings consisted of chats around the fire and sleeping in a tipi. It truly was the most amazing experience in such a beautiful location and I cannot wait to go back! A huge thank you to those who made the weekend so special- I could not recommend Stuart and the team enough. X"
Maisie Fuller, Cornwall, 30 May 2016
"I couldn't have asked for a better stag do! After doing the rounds on all the typical British stag do's, I was adamant that I wanted to do something else, something different to what everyone would be expecting and 7th Rise did not disappoint.
On the first day, after a full English breakfast, it was our turn to skin and butcher a deer ready to eat for the rest of the weekend - by this point, the whole stag party didn't want to leave.
There was no pressure, no demands and no worries at 7th Rise, everyone felt as if we'd all gone back to being kids and doing what we all enjoyed when we were younger. Stu and Andy were possibly the best hosts ever, nothing was a problem and they were both more than happy to help, answer our questions or lose graciously at the card game they taught us!
This was an unforgettable stag do and I know that I will definitely be returning to the 7th Rise."
Grant Hawkins, Anstey, 30 April 2015
"Wow, what a weekend! We recently held a stag do with Thom and the team at 7th Rise and had a blast. The back to nature approach and numerous activities they offer made it a weekend to remember. Our particular favourite was the butchery session, which is not to be missed. Thank you team 7th Rise.
