Archery

Be ready to let your competitive nature shine as our Archery session includes a variety of fast paced techniques and challenges. From head-to-head 'dualling' to top score individual and team events there is always a lot of fun and excitement as it can come down to the last arrow! Mini prizes (and forfeits) for the best (and worst!) performers on the day. All equipment provided with left and right handed bows (and arrows!) available

Foraging & Cooking

Find your own dinner in the woods, hedgerows, seashore & fields surrounding the 7th Rise venue. Collecting wild herbs, plants, roots, shoots, flowers, seeds, fruits, fungi or shellfish to add to one of our famous dishes such as Wild Paella, foragers soup or Venison Chilli. Impress your mates back at home after learning to cook your own ‘wild signature dish’ over the fire you made yourself!

Full Deer Carcass butchery

Get to know your way around a blade and basic butchery or filleting skills. A great introduction to prepping your dinner for the flame! Our groups get a full deer carcass to butcher and learn the anatomy of the animal and skills of master butchers. We begin with a lesson in knife selection and sharpening before moving on to skinning and breaking down a full carcass into different steaks/cuts/joints. The meat you butcher will then go towards dinner. (Please note minimum 6 month waiting time on tanned skins) 95% of the time we are able to source a deer carcass but as wild animals we cannot guarentee a deer. As an alternative we offer rabbit carcasses for each group member and inclusive demonstrations of other wild game like pigeon, pheasant or duck)

Intro to Bushcraft/Survival

When the fire starts to burn… learn how to build a roaring fire to cook your catch on and to keep you warm under the stars. Learn the top tips and tricks for woodland survival from our experts. This session can include any of the following; axe and knife practices and tips, wood selection, firelighting, animal trapping, homemade bows and arrows, making flat fish spears, specialist knots and more. Always a great experience to learn the basics and some advanced techniques to turn you into the next Bear Grylls!

Canadian canoeing

Get out on the river and learn the art of maneuvering a Canadian canoe with stealth. This session can be run a number of different ways depending on group experience and weather conditions. Fishing (if the river is clear enough), makeshift sailing Swallows and Amazon style (if its windy enough) or simply an exploratory trip (if you're adventurous enough) up the coves and creeks of the river. Note that canoeing is weather dependent. If we cannot operate this course, we have to stay land based so we do an Advanced Survival session

Over the duration of the weekend you will also have plenty of time to explore the surrounds, relax in our Hammock Village and sample our latest brews at our Driftwood Bar. With free time incorporated into the weekend, you will be able to design a group experience like never before. No alcohol is supplied over the weekend, you are more than welcome to bring your own on-site to consume!

The private group experience runs from 4pm on Friday - 4pm on Sunday and the cost includes; all activities, ingredients, accommodation, equipment, main meals and soft drinks for the duration of your stay.
