Foraging and Wild Food Day

A day of foraging and wild cooking hosted by our expert instructors at the 7th Rise venue on the banks of the River Fal in Cornwall.
Cooking from the ground up. With a wide range of diverse habitats so close to hand at 7th Rise, you’ll soon discover a wonderful array of wild ingredients while you roam our vast landscape. Back at base, using outdoor cooking techniques and your finds from the land, you’ll work together to create a handful of delicious dishes – such as Wild paella or our Forager’s soup served with Cornish cheeses and fresh bread.
We're lucky to have diverse habitats on site: seashore, woodland, fields and hedgerow and during the day you will be shown how to identify at least a dozen edible plants, flowers, roots and herbs, plus a few unedible ones!
If the weather stays dry, we have a long outdoor dining table and if it rains we have an indoor space available too.
Lunch, equipment, instruction and hot drinks provided - just bring yourselves (and maybe a notebook). We sometimes include meat and fish in the meal; please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we can plan accordingly.
